Physical activity should be part of our daily lives. Sitting at a desk all day, driving to work, watching television, or being on the computer can take up most of the day. It can be hard to fit in ways to be active on a regular basis.

Our bodies are made to move. Large periods of time without regular physical activity may lead to weight gain, but is also linked to chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, osteoporosis, joint problems, and diabetes among others.

Health and Fitness Programs in Allegheny County Parks

The Allegheny County Parks Department offers 12 different health and fitness programs in five parks throughout the county each summer, including both low-impact and high-impact exercise and training sessions, as well as educational classes.
